The following are conditions and pertinent information for the Virginia Tech Invitational:
All entries will be accepted online at www.flashresults.com, from:
2nd to the 7th January, 2009 for the VT Invitational (January 9-10 2009)
Entries close at 12 midnight EST on January 7th.
There is a limit on the number of entries per event, including the relays. The limit is 3 athletes per individual event and 2 relay teams per relay event, per school.
Due to the increased number of teams, there will be no unattached athletes entered into our January or February meets. This includes “Red Shirted” athletes and /or any athletes not representing a school. Please don’t bother calling and asking for an exception to this policy.
There will be tentative minimum marks for measurement in the horizontal jumps and throws. These marks are included with this letter. Increments in the vertical jumps will be determined after entries have been received.
The fees are as follow: $350.00 for men’s teams, $350.00 for women’s teams. Teams consist of 14 or more athletes ENTERED into the meet. Those teams with 13 or less athletes entered are charged the rate of $25.00 per athlete. Make checks payable to “Treasurer of Virginia Tech.”
Doors to Rector Field House will open 1 1/2 hours prior to the start of the first event. Athletes may not enter Rector Field House until 3:30pm Friday to practice or warm up. The field house will open at 8:30am on Saturday, January 10th 2009. Athletes may use the outdoor track facility, adjacent to Rector Field House, at any time for warm up and practice.
Packets will be available for pick up upon entering the field house at the front table. Please note that if you have not submitted payment for the meet, prior to the day of the event, you may do so when you pick up your packet.
There will be no call during the duration of the meet, unless requested by the official in charge. All athletes are required to be checked in no later than 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of their events.
